KASHY’S FALLOUT 76 CAMPS

FREE FROM ANY COMMON THEME OR STYLE, I’VE EXPLORED DIFFERENT IDEAS AND TACTICS, DRAWING INSPIRATION FROM EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE.

My CAMPs are a mix of old and new, shown here in no particular order. They are often the oldest, and so often the simplest, due to limitations in my vision and skill. Only a couple (not shown here) have ever been scrapped, 2 have been rebuilt, and the others get little refreshes from time to time, generally not changing much. This evolution started with the oldest here, The Witch House, through to the most recent, UNAGI.

All CAMPs: Skills levels range from moderate to advanced, given here as personal estimates based on my own limited skill, the coherence and complexity of the concept, and the patience they needed, sometimes just because it has to be that way, sometimes because of this buggy game of ours.

UNAGI

2025

What better name for a seafood restaurant than UNAGI, being salt-water eel cooked by specially trained experts. Unfortunately, eel is currently not available in Appalachia but many other species are. We don’t use printed menus, instead inviting guests to choose from the mounted wall displays, or take advantage of the fresh crab steamer / cremator. Radiation levels may vary. Allergy warning: While all precautions are taken, meals may contain food.

LOCATION: Inconveniently located in the lake near Thunder Mountain Power Station, which apparently is off-line. Again.

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Glowing blue 1/4 height windows top and bottom both sides, floating canoes, indoor water elements, concealed merging through upper floor pieces, concealed power and weather system, floating promotional lettering (not shown here), hectic open kitchen with random elements, welcoming outdoor area, small utility area, shelter access via basement, sorry about the sunken trawler. Skill level Advanced.

FLATWOODS OVERLOOK

2022

A beautiful and typically sunny location suited an airy and open design. Upstairs has a lovely open lounge area with kitchen and bathroom, surrounded on 3 sides by spacious decks. Downstairs contains a fully equipped workshop that has given away nothing in aesthetics to be completely functional. The nearby wooden walkway provides access up and down the hill, and the nearby landing has a tropically-themed onsen. At night, the white walls glow inside and out, highlighting the walls and window features. My first adventurous build, it remains a favourite.

LOCATION: Northwest of Flatwoods

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Wall design with internal illumination, semi-merged shelter entrances, “floating” upper floor, unique entry design, workshop finishes, custom kitchen using 2022 resources, general materials and finishes. Direct access to most shelters. Skill level Moderate.

HEIWANA BASHO 平和な場所

2023

My PEACEFUL PLACE is in its second iteration. It is a n escape for calm reflection by the water, where visitors are encouraged to find spiritual solace. Officially, it’s a Mirelurk Shrine, but prayer and tribute can be directed toward any deity. Visitors are encouraged to relax and are welcome to explore the beautiful pond and many connected shelters. Red storms occasionally arise in the southern sky, which only add to the magic of the experience.

LOCATION: South of Lake Eloise, not far from the Ranger Station Bunker

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Torii, sake barrels, features placed in the water, humble gable roof, shelter entrance structure, general materials, spaces and proportions. Some minor updates have occurred since the video was made. Direct access to most shelters. Skill level mostly Moderate+

WITCH-HOUSE

2022

For some unknown reason that has nothing to to do with building tricks I’m known as a witch by my friends in Appalachia. Every witch needs a creepy home, right? This 2023 version of the Witch House is a rebuild of the original built on the same sight, which was, to be honest, a bit crap. The vibe is of a house that was once very elegant and refined, but has changed over time to become weird, with metal bars, dim lighting and curiously morbid artifacts and collections. Maul sits out front, the onsen seems to also be a place of mourning, some graves are nearby, and a witch explodes from time to time.

LOCATION: Near Sunnytop Ski Lanes

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Not a lot. Concealed weapon racks, power and weather system. Exploding witch. Some interesting merges and displays but it’s mostly about feel, layout, and item placement. Direct access to most shelters, small workroom. Skill level Moderate.

TA_KASHY’S KASTLE

2022

High atop Seneca Rocks a stone manor house adopted a name similar to a Japanese game show from 1986, later re-edited as MXC with English parody dubbing. It’s bleak stone facade and stained glass windows suggest more of a manor house than a castle, but it still remains imposing. inside, visitors are greeted by perhaps too much to take in - workshop entries left and right, twin staircases, unfriendly portraits, and dull floor hatches. Out the back is an open paved area, with a firepit, onsen, barbecue area, recreational devices, dog kennel and uninterrupted views. One step to many can add death to that list, so be careful. Back inside and up the stairs, the middle floor displays gruesome and curious artifacts, with 2 doors leading to shelter entry lobbies at either side. The top floor provides a comfortable seating area, as well as access to the bedroom, bathroom and outdoor deck area. Build budget has been stretched to the max to bring this fully functional CAMP to life.

LOCATION: Seneca Rocks

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Not a lot, mostly just messing with assets so they sit properly and appear to belong in a location which usually sees CAMPs built with severely compromised structures that just don’t sit well. Display placement at times requiring wall manipulation. Semi-integrated shelter accesses with direct access to most shelters. Difficulty level Moderate.

KRISTMAS IN FLATWOODS

2023

For a few days days during only 1 month of the year, KASHY KRISTMAS comes in Appalachia. In Flatwoods it takes the form of an elegant store specializing in toys and novelty costumes. The building is in the style of an old brick structure, maybe a small factory or warehouse, since converted to become a lovely shopping experience to make lovely $$$. The atmosphere is festive, welcoming and cold, because that’s what you lot expect (for me Christmas is 30+ degrees and 90% humidity, you’re welcome). Comprehensive shelter accesses are integrated, there is an onsen for the overworked shopkeeper, but only basic crafting resources. Hey, it’s a retail establishment, not a factory! Ho ho ho!

LOCATION: Just north of Flatwoods beside the BOS roadblock - they are useless as store security

TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS: Foundation-merged Christmas trees with floating lights at 3 levels in each, integrated shelter accesses, slightly complex entry stairs at 90 degrees, dual sliding doorways, floating sign with lights, minor concealed lighting, some merged or floating displays, full-height solid hedges over front walls (a’la Fred Siegel). Direct access to most shelters. Difficulty level Moderate+.
